Kilkenny City FC talks ASS to the 2.1 champ for season 26.

- A great season for you in 2.1 mate... ...Can you give us your reaction to winning the 3 way battle with de bowez & wolfie and did you fancy your chances of promotion at the beginning of season 26?

Delighted with the season! Didint think it was possible to score that many points in 2.1! At the start of season 26 my aim was to be in the mix for promotion after coming just short in the previous season and the lads didnt let me down with some stunning results. Credit to De Bowez and Wolfie who both ran great campaigns and in most other seasons would have occupied the top 2 spots! Good luck to De Bowez in the playoffs and to Wolfie next season.

- How do you think you'll do in LOI? - yer squad looks a bit lean in experience but makes up for that in Youth... what areas are you looking to strengthen (if any)?

Well obvious aim is to avoid relegation so 12th spot is the target with one or two nice scalps along the way :-) Would love to make an addition or two for the new season but finances are a bit tight and need to invest in some facilities first but we shall see.

- Your thoughts on Stan's 2nd LOI success and How you think yourself and the other promoted sides will fare overall next season(fater and cork so far) ?

Was a very impressive season by Stan indeed, Havnt seen a dominating LOI season like that in a very long time hopefully I wont be on the end of too bad a thumping next season by him. Will be tough for the 3 of us next season and I hope we make a good show of ourselves. I would imagine Cork would be ahead of the 2 of us at the end of the season though he has some top top players there.

- The perennial old chestnut of a question, Who are you most looking forward to playing in the LOI?

Hopefully Lee wins his play-off match tonight and stays in the div, they would definatly be the two games i would enjoy most because he is a close friend and we started our teams at the same time togther in college! If he doesnt Les just so Nolan can smash a few goals past him! :-)

- You've always done well outta the YA (and spotting & picking up talented youths to be fair) who are the youngsters to look out for in the future ?

- Have you ever been tempted to cash in on yer MVP?

There have been times where i have thought bout what i could do with the money from him but i've never been offered what i would consider acceptable. Doubt i will sell him though at this stage. - So we've had(put up with) a season of it

- what are yer thoughts/ fears on the new and improved superslick TM Damien Duff or a little bit rough? (sorry ;)

Presuming Damien Duff is the positive answer i'll go with that! At the start i found it frustrating but with time and a few add-ons im really enjoying it now. What they seem to have planned for the game is great and I totally understand they needed to move away from TM 1.0. Hopefully the Irish community will pick back up fully over the next few seasons though and make the game more interesting.

- and conditional orders/new M.Engine, what impact if any have they had on the game in your opinion ?

To be honest im not really sure! Ive enjoyed using conditional orders think it's been a great addition to the game and regarding the new ME im not going to complain so far so good.......come back to me mid next season though! ;-)

...and finally, you've been playing TM since season 12 - what keeps you coming back, for more?

YD and the development of young players has been one of the main things, Tuesday has always been my favourite in the TM week. Enjoy trawling through the TL for a couple of bargins and reading the forums aswell. The introduction of 2nd teams this season has been great aswell really enjoy the challenge of basically starting for scratch again!
