Thanks for the encouraging words on the forum guys.  Must say these fecken games are not easy to watch.

When Israel scored in the dying stages, I thought we would come away with nothing.  So it was great to see Ó Rag step up with the equaliser in stoppage time.  Would have been mind-blowing to start the campaign with a win, particularly against a quality outfit like Israel, but I have to be pretty happy really with the point.

So we've a long way to go yet in this campaign - another seven matches - and I'm sure TM will throw us plenty of curve balls, but that was an extremely encouraging start.

Analysis:

6 J. "The Cat" Rochford GK Only missed one save out of four and that was an apparently 'No chance at all for the keeper" type, plus he picked out one of their corners, so good match, never mind the average rating. Rating: 5

7 C. Mullan 1 Defended very well, making a clearance and an interception, also passed well. Injured in the latter stages. Rating: 6

8 M. "The Kid" Simpson DCL Made a tackle, missed a tackle, missed an intercept, picked up a card. Rating: 3

9 M. Fitzpatrick DCR Two interceptions, a tackle and a good pass, with just one missed intercept. Rating: 7

10 S. O'Bannon DR A couple of interceptions and one missed. One bad pass, but the good one found Ó Rag for his goal. Rating: 5

11 T. Connolly DMC Picked out their passes twice, made a bad pass himself and was tackled. But got a shot away and [Drum Roll...], no card. Rating: 4

3 L. McArdle ML Three decent passes and two bad. Rating: 7

12 N. Kennedy MC Two of his passes were intercepted, while he missed one himself, but got a shot on target and very nearly scored. Rating: 4

4 A. glynn MR Two decent passes and an intercept as well as a shot on target. Didn't have any luck with corners tho. Rating: 7

2 J. Neill OMC Quiet game at OM. Just the one shot and a poor pass. Probably is better suited to striker. Rating: 4

13 R. Ó Raighne (1) FC Three shots on target, two off, tackled once. And, oh yeah, the goal... Rating: 5

20 S. O'Brien DL Came on for Mullan in the 72nd minute. Blocked one of their attacks in the last play of the game. Rating: 5
