So with that I think we can safely say that we are out of the competition.  Just playing for pride now against Belize - you heard that sentence here first.

But firstly a little disclaimer.  I found out subsequent to the last report that a number of players selected did not play the first game due to the injury confusion.  So the inexperienced fellas who took to the field, should not have played at all.  Probably worth noting tho, that guys with such low routine as O'Gara, probably should be excluded from the squad altogether.

2:3 to Chile puts us out.  Greene had a mare in fairness and with the scant information in the report it is difficult to pinpoint which of our defenders, apart from Mullan were also to blame.  But here's what we do know:

Match Analysis:

A. "The Wall" Greene GK

Failed to save every Chilean shot on target, conceding 3 goals.  Made one bad kickout.  Rating: 1

C. Mullan DL

Poor game on attack, making two bad passes and got himself tackled.  Mistackled on defence, which led to a goal.  Rating: 3

J. "Jayyysus" Miller DCL

As far as I can see made one tackle in defence, but got tackled himelf.  Not enough physicality or tackling to play at the back at this level.  Rating: 4

M. "The Kid" Simpson DCR

Any good he did on defence and attack was cancelled out by a bad pass, a mistackle, then a card.  Rating: 6

S. O'Brien DR

Didn't defend too badly, making an interception, but also made a bad pass and got tackled in attack.  Got a header away, but was off target, before being injured.  Rating: 3

D. "Sinister" Scott DML

One of our better players on the day.  Did not seem to feature in defence, but did sent a shot wide, before picking up a goal.  Rating: 7

S. O'Bannon DMR

Had a very quiet game according to the match report, with just one interception.  Rating: 5

J. Donovan MC

A good game in midfield for the veteran.  Made good on at least one pass and picked himself up a goal.  Rating: 7

N. O'Gorman OML

Just two corners was all we saw of him.  One of which found its mark.  Rating: 5

L. Heffernan OMR

Linked up with Donovan to get an assist, but made a couple of bad passes as well.  Rating: 6
